These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Chartself platform ("Service"), operated by Chartself ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

By clicking "Sign Up" or "I Agree" during registration, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age, have read and understood these Terms, and have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement.

Not financial advice. Chartself is a journaling and analytics tool only. Nothing in the Service — including AI-generated reports, insights, alerts, trade observations, or any analytics — constitutes financial, investment, trading, tax, or legal advice. We are not a broker, dealer, exchange, fund manager, or licensed financial adviser, and we do not execute trades or hold funds on your behalf. Trading involves substantial risk of loss and is not suitable for everyone. You are solely responsible for all your trading and financial decisions. If you require financial advice, please consult a licensed financial adviser regulated by the relevant authority in your jurisdiction.

1. Description of service

Chartself provides tools to record, organise, and analyse your own trading activity, including trade logging, CSV import, performance analytics, equity curve tracking, risk management tools, psychology and behaviour tracking, playbook creation, AI-powered chat (BYOK), automated weekly AI reports, in-session alert notifications, and conversational trade logging.

We may add, change, suspend, or remove features at any time. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times.

2. Eligibility and account

You must be at least 18 years old to use Chartself. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must provide accurate information when registering and keep your details up to date. You may not share your account with other users.

3. Subscription plans and billing

Chartself offers the following subscription tiers:

Free plan — USD $0/month. Access to core journaling features.
Pro plan — USD $12/month. Includes AI features (BYOK), full analytics, and broker sync.
Elite plan — USD $24/month. Includes everything in Pro plus backtesting, tax reports, and Chartself API access.

Subscriptions are billed monthly in advance. By subscribing, you authorise us to charge your chosen payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel.

Cancellation. You may cancel at any time from Settings → Plan. Your subscription remains active until the end of the current billing period. No partial refunds are provided for unused time.
Upgrades. Upgrading from Pro to Elite is processed immediately with proration — you pay only the difference for the remaining billing period.
Price changes. We may change subscription prices with at least 30 days' notice to your registered email address. Continued use after the new price takes effect constitutes acceptance.
Refunds. Except where required by applicable consumer protection law, fees are non-refundable.
Failed payments. If payment cannot be collected after reasonable attempts, your account will be downgraded to the Free plan.

4. Bring your own key (BYOK) AI features

AI-powered features in Chartself use a Bring Your Own Key (BYOK) model. You supply your own API key from a third-party AI provider of your choice. By enabling these features, you acknowledge and agree that:

You are responsible for obtaining the API key, complying with that provider's terms of service, and for any costs charged by that provider as a result of your use
Your API key is encrypted using AES-256-GCM before storage and is never stored or transmitted in plain text
Chartself acts only as an intermediary to route your requests to your chosen provider using the key you supply
AI-generated content — including chat responses, weekly reports, trade observations, and alert insights — may be inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading, and must be independently verified before being relied upon
Chartself is not responsible for the availability, accuracy, output, or privacy practices of any third-party AI provider

5. Your content and data

You retain all rights to the trade data, notes, playbooks, and other content you create in Chartself ("Your Content"). You grant Chartself a limited, non-exclusive licence to store and process Your Content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you. We do not claim ownership of your trading data and do not use it to train AI models or share it with third parties beyond what is necessary to operate the Service.

6. Intellectual property

All software, designs, logos, and content created by Chartself are the intellectual property of Chartself. You may not copy, reproduce, modify, or distribute any part of the Chartself platform without our written permission. If you provide feedback or suggestions, you grant us the right to use that feedback without obligation or compensation to you.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Chartself to:

Violate any applicable law or regulation
Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other users' accounts or our systems
Reverse engineer, decompile, scrape, or resell the Service without permission
Upload malicious code, viruses, or harmful content
Use BYOK API keys fraudulently or in violation of your AI provider's terms
Impersonate another person or entity
Use the Service to provide financial advice to third parties while representing it as Chartself's output

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules without notice and without refund.

8. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT ANY ANALYTICS, CALCULATIONS, OR AI-GENERATED OUTPUT WILL BE ACCURATE, COMPLETE, OR ERROR-FREE. YOU USE THE SERVICE AND MAKE ANY TRADING OR FINANCIAL DECISIONS ENTIRELY AT YOUR OWN RISK.

9. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, CHARTSELF SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY TRADING LOSSES, LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, OR DATA, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE. IN ALL CASES, OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE TOTAL AMOUNT YOU PAID TO CHARTSELF IN THE 3 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) USD $50. NOTHING IN THESE TERMS LIMITS LIABILITY FOR FRAUD, DEATH, OR PERSONAL INJURY CAUSED BY NEGLIGENCE, OR ANY OTHER LIABILITY THAT CANNOT BE EXCLUDED UNDER APPLICABLE LAW.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Chartself and its owners, employees, and agents from any claims, losses, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, Your Content, your violation of these Terms, or your trading and financial decisions.

11. Account termination

You may delete your account at any time via Settings → Danger zone. This action is permanent and irreversible — all your data will be permanently deleted and any active subscription cancelled with no refund for the remaining period. We may suspend or terminate your account if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, engaged in fraudulent activity, or for security reasons, with reasonable notice where practicable.

12. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any disputes arising from or in connection with these Terms shall be first attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If resolution cannot be reached, disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia, unless otherwise required by applicable consumer protection law in your jurisdiction.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using Chartself before the effective date.
